Parmalat, one of the most prestigious food manufacturers in the world, was established in 1961 by Calisto Tanzi, a young entrepreneur from Parma. Initially, he starts in Collechio a small factory for canned dairy products, supplying fresh milk - under the brand Parmalat- to the city of Parma and the neighboring counties. Under continuous development, Parmalat has in its portfolio more than 30 brands of food products, the most famous one being the following: the Parmalat milk, Parmalat teas and yoghurts, Parmalat butter and cheese, Parmalat snacks and biscuits, Grisbi biscuits, Parmalat bakery products and pasta, Santal natural juices, Santal deserts, Panna Chef creams and sauces, Pais vegetal soups, Pomi tomato juice, Aqua Santal mineral water, Kyr yoghurts, Omega 3milk etc. Santal natural juices have been on the Romanian market since 1991 - imported - and in 1996 Parmalat S.p.A. Italia set the grounds for a production line for these juices in Romania. Santal juices represent the most diversified assortment on the Romanian market, with more than 19 products among which: Orange, Red Oranges of Sicily, Peach, Apricot, Pear, Cherry, Forrest fruits, Pomegranate of Persia, Drink Orange, Drink Orange- Carrots, Grapefruit, Pink grapefruit, Apple, exotic, Drink Peach-Lemon etc. There are two types of packaging for the Santal natural fruit juices: in carton boxes of 1000 ml and in glass bottles of 200 ml and 250 ml. Worldwide, the brand Santal exists in at least all the countries where Parmalat is present, not taking into account the imports, being one of the products with the highest awareness in the portfolio. From the Romanian's consumer point of view, Santal juices are regarded as high quality, modern, trustworthy, healthy, nourishing and fit for special occasions products. It is the juice used most frequently for cocktails, recommended by its quality.
